Lexus’ new RX turbo SUV has achieved its highest monthly sales result since it was introduced to the Australian market last year.
Sales of the new model, which is powered by Lexus’ highly responsive 2.0-litre turbo engine, increased by 42 per cent over its previous best month of March this year.
In addition, the entire RX Line recorded 196 new vehicle sales in April – the best result for the new fourth generation model since it was launched last year – which contributed to another strong month for Lexus with 802 new luxury vehicle deliveries.
The result was up 23 per cent on the April 2015 figure.
Lexus Australia chief executive Peter McGregor said the RX turbo and RX Line in general brought numerous outstanding features to the luxury SUV market.
“The stunning RX turbo is striking a very favourable chord with our guests, delivering outstanding styling, technology, accommodation, specification and a fantastic turbo engine that delivers an engaging drive no matter the conditions,” Mr McGregor said.
“We are also delighted with the performance of the RX Line in the market, and this follows the very welcome news that its design-driven, luxury interior was recently recognised by independent US resource WardsAuto as one of the best in the industry.”
The new midsize RX is available in two other engine variants in addition to the turbo and in Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury grades.
Pricing starts at $73,000* for the highly specified RX turbo Luxury variant.
